Teenagers & Adult

7:15 - 8:45 pm

7:15 - 8:45 pm

"Little Warriors" (5 - 9 year olds) -  Children learn martial art skills as well as life skills such as focus, discipline, respect, confidence, conflict resolution and learning to channel their energy in productive ways. We use the Play As the Way tm method which allows kids to learn in their most effective medium: Play!

Teenagers (10 - 15 year olds) -  This class is designed to cater to the older-than-a-child, but-not-quite-an-adult group. We still use the Play As the Way tm method, but incorporate age appropriate learning material. This class also teaches strong life skills such as determination, confidence and outside-the-box thinking.

Women's Kickboxing - This class will teaching practical boxing and kickboxing techniques and offer cardiovascular conditioning. While there won't be any sparring in this class, all of the techniques taught and practiced will be realistic and pragmatic.

MMA -  Adults learn Mixed Martial Art techniques (like in the UFC) at an appropriate pace. In this class you will learn punching, kicking & wrestling techniques which can be used in competition or in self defense. This is also an amazing workout if you're looking for fitness you won't ever get bored with!

Yoga & Pilates - Pilates is a body conditioning routine that seeks to build flexibility, strength, endurance, and coordination without adding muscle bulk.  Yoga is the means of creating balance in the body through developing both strength and flexibility. This class utilizes both methods to give our students the best of both styles.

Zumba! - When participants see a Zumba class in action, they can’t wait to give it a try. Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.

KMAA's Zumba instructor , Angela Panther, is a long time instructor of Zumba that just recently relocated to Knoxville from Michigan. She's excited to bring her expertise and high-energy to KMAA.
